Fahamu is seeking an experienced Finance and Operations Director. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Finance and Operations Director will be a hands on and participative manager who will lead a team to manage the organisation’s finance and operations (including human resources and administration).
This role will be based in Nairobi, Kenya or Dakar, Senegal but will have a remit covering the whole of Fahamu’s pan-African programmes with offices in Kenya, Senegal, South Africa and UK.

Fahamu is commissioning an evaluation of its pilot Pan African Fellowship Program. The evaluation will establish the extent to which the initiative contributed to the strengthening of social justice activism in Kenya by developing the knowledge and experiences of fellows who are community based activists,

Picture of Resistance tells the story of ten of Kenya’s unsung heroes who carry forward the tradition of the thousands of nameless freedom fighters of Kenya’s long path to liberation. These activists were part, over the last year, of the inaugural Fahamu Pan-African Fellowship (FPAF) programme.
With local action and an African vision, the FPAF aimed to support a cadre of energetic, visionary and innovative activists.

The Movement Building Boot Camp (MBBC) online platform is an e-learning space for African activists doing progressive work around sexuality, gender, justice and rights. It features training guides and knowledge resources to support creative thinking, strategising and discussions among activists working for social transformation inclusive of issues of sexuality and gender identity.
The training resources are organised around three intersecting pillars: Concepts (theoretical frameworks for understanding our world), Practice (activist tools and methods) and Self (individual and collective well-being and security).

Fahamu hosted the graduation of the Fahamu Pan-African Fellowship first cohort on 18th November 2011. The event marked the end of a year-long program that supported and nurtured a cadre of visionary, innovative and energetic activism and leadership among Kenya’s community organisers.

The 'We Are The Solution' project will provide the Rural Women's organisations in Senegal, Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Guinea with learning and support to enable them to lead on a campaign to promote the benefits of traditional family farming and how these methods can combat the issues of hunger and loss of biodiversity as well as ensuring that local people retain control over food security of their communities and countries.
The project will also focus on the women's learning on womens rights and feminism.
