Premier Li Keqiang’s 38-page government work repoert also outlined the country’s foreign policies, including President Xi Jinping’s ‘One belt, one road’ initiative, which aims to develop deeper relationships between China and other nations along the New Silk Road.
Meanwhile, the premier stressed China’s plans to continue strengthening its unity and cooperation with other developing countries as well as protect the country’s common interests.
“We will continue to hold high the banner of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit, and coordinate China’s domestic and international efforts. We remain fully committed to peaceful development and pursing a win-win strategy of opening up. We will resolutely safeguard China’s sovereignty security, and developmental interests, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and legal persons overseas. We will help develop a new type of international relations based on mutual benefit and cooperation, work to deepen strategic dialogue and practical cooperation with other major countries, and work to build a sound and stable framework for major-country relations. We will work comprehensively to make progress in neighborhood diplomacy and work to create a community with a common future with our neighbors.” he said.
