The State of the Union (SOTU) is a coalition of ten civil society organisations that advocates for the ratification, domestication and implementation of key African Union (AU) treaties and legal instruments. They range from governance, political, social and economic rights, to peace and security and development.

Fahamu is establishing a sex worker leadership initiative (SWLI) for sex worker rights activists based in Eastern and Southern Africa. The outcome of the proposed SWLI will be a strengthened sex worker movement in Eastern and Southern Africa able to translate their desired impact into concrete action plans.
This occasional paper series was initially framed by an interest in interrogating gender training as a tool for transformation within peacekeeping and peace support operations. The focus of this series subsequently expanded to include a critical analysis of the dominant paths through which gender has been integrated into discourses on security.
Fahamu is looking for an experienced organization change manager to support the completion of Fahamu’s Africa transition. The change manager consultancy position is a full-time short-term assignment. The consultant or team of consultants are expected to complete the assignment within 5 months of the start of the assignment.
